It all happened in July 2012;

Tuchlin, where we (WE means I, my English husband and our daughter) settled a few years ago, is a magical place. This small village between Mikołajki and Orzysz, lies among the gentle moraines between two lakes; Śniardwy lake also called the Mazurian sea (the largest polish lake) and Tuchlin lake.

But it was not just the beauty of the landscape that blew us away when we settled here. We were fascinated by the people we met here and beautiful things that they have been making . We wanted to create a place where we could bring all these beautiful things and present them to the world. So was born, the idea of creating our gallery: Crafts Center and the workshop.

 

 

 

 

What is Mazurska Galeria

Mazurska Gallery is not just a shop where you can buy original, handcrafted present or souvenir from your holiday in Mazury. In our gallery you can meet and see the artists at work. Each of them has their own exhibition. Often their work refers to old local Mazurian traditions. Therefore, in the gallery you will also find links to the past: reprints of old maps, reprints of old postcards and pictures.

In the Gallery, you can purchase items that are beautiful and useful. Their common feature is that they are formed in Mazurian workshops. We offer you; colourful wooden toys, decorative clay crockery, wicker baskets and original Mazurian tiles, wooden sculptures, graphics, jewellery, hand-made dollies, embroidery, decorative pillows, bags, woolly knitted hats. We offer also wooden stools, coat hangers and traditional handmade cloth rugs and birch brooms. You can also find other surprising and fascinating items.

 

 

 

 

Visitors to the Gallery can also take a stroll or bike ride around the beautiful, deserted area. On foot or by bike you can get to one of the beaches of Tuchlin or Śniardwy lake. Along the way you might meet herons, storks and geese and other wild animals.

We offer our guests, maps with routes and bike paths.

For organized groups we have special offer; meetings with artists and artisans. They will talk about their work and present the ins and outs of their professions with demonstrations of their skills
